Suitable for installation activities, these highly versatile service operation vessels are designed by VARD for Windward Offshore for offshore support operations, focusing on onboard logistics, security, and superior operability.

MELCAL proudly contributes to this important project, by providing foldable knuckle telescopic boom cranes for ship-to-ship transfer lifting operations in different sea states. Approved by DNV, the cranes are equipped with hydraulic winches, safety features included, wireless radio controls and emergency panel on column side.

Built at VARD Tulcea, the vessels’ primary activities will be transferring spare parts to wind turbines for maintenance planning.

Each new building will be fitted with two MELCAL cranes: the delivery of the lifting equipment is scheduled starting from 2024 to 2027, followed by commissioning agreement from MELCAL service division.

This order marks another significant milestone for MELCAL in advancing its commitment to deliver comprehensive offshore wind solutions. It also represents a testament to the demonstrated expertise and successful cooperation with VARD shipyard.
